PATHS for us was founded by actor|producer Christian Robinson known for his work in HBO’s Emmy Award winning WATCHMEN, the critically acclaimed Netflix Original and official selection of The Sundance Film Festival BURNING SANDS and Universal Studios’ THE FIRST PURGE The Highest Grossing summer blockbuster in the franchise at the international box office. The God given and driven idea to begin this foundation was placed in Christian’s heart and since inception the mission has been accepted. Our Founder dedicates countless hours and resources to the delicate intricacies it takes to assure PATHS for us is streamlined and helpful for those that want to begin a career in entertainment. Navigating the entertainment industry can be a nearly impossible task. By pulling resources, developing strategic partnerships and combining resources with like minded groups and individuals PATHS for us is able to educate youth worldwide about the countless opportunities in entertainment and provide insight from industry professionals on how to begin working in the many different areas of the entertainment industry. Christian has spearheaded this process while taking his time to converse with youth across the country consistently provoking them to begin taking steps beyond their circumstances.

 

Ryan Marcus

Treasurer

Ryan Marcus is a native of North Carolina and resides in the Los Angeles area. He is a Senior Trade Floor Associate that obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in marketing & sales. Ryan manages and supports all US Fixed Income and cash equity products with brokers such as Goldman Sachs & JP Morgan Chase. He’s performed monthly checks with portfolio managers to highlight any fails that would result in a $250,000 PNL lost for the firm. He continues to foster relationships with external regulatory agency (LOB) constituents through partnerships & dialogue. Adhered to proof & control procedures, to ensure accurate reconciliation including regulatory filings, SEC filings, and other published financial reports. Ryan has handled asset calculations for 40+ clients while executing $10,000,000 worth of trade submissions to regulators through additional regulatory submissions, asset data analysis, and 10+ department audit reports.

Ryan is simultaneously well versed in the arena of acting & modeling. He is rising through several variables to reach his goals in the industry. Ryan believes there will always be doubters, as well as critics and nonbelievers, who will notice your every move, mistake, failure, and blunder. You just have to remember to rise after each fall and improve after each failure; when there is thunder, be the lighting. It is what we do that defines us, we cannot let the past confine us.

Damaris Dunn

Secretary

Damaris C. Dunn is a PhD student at the University of Georgia's Mary Frances Early College of Education in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice. Before beginning her doctoral studies in 2019, Damaris taught social studies at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY. Transitioning out of the classroom in 2015, to Global Kids, Inc., a nonprofit “developing youth leaders for the global stage” Damaris served as a youth developer and Community School Director assisting adolescents and families in the Bronx. Damaris' fondest memories serving young people in New York City are at the Schomburg Center for Research and Black Culture’s Junior Scholars Program where she co-taught spoken word and archival research, in addition to classroom teaching and youth development. Damaris sees firsthand the need for providing Black and Brown youth with opportunities to engage with professionals who look like them. Such experiences leave indelible marks on students, giving them the courage and wherewithal to pursue their dreams. Damaris sees PATHS for Us as a space that not only provides access to the arts but supplies Black and Brown youth with the tools necessary to explore and thrive within the entertainment industry. Driven solely by faith and purpose, she is committed to all things Black Joy.
